Don’t forget about the potholes! The 40s and 35s on the 20s can’t stand up to Michigan potholes!
For those of you not from Michigan, we have ice cream companies here that have actually come up with a flavor called “Michigan Pothole”

Rumor has it that the chassis tuners for Alpha got their training bymaneuvering around Michigan potholes.

Of course that’s not true, but we could start that rumor!

The only convertable Camaro is Bumble Bee - converts between a car and a robot.

Oh... Wait... you meant convertible! Yeah, I disagree. And so do a lot of other people.

it wasn't - it was made as a convertible....

And they have been making pony car and muscle car convertibles since the cars first came out in the mid 60's, so not sure where that is coming from.

Personally I wouldn't want a true sports car like a Corvette or 911 as a convertible, but then I do like roadsters like the Z3 / Z4 / Boxster / Miata / Viper / S2000 / Cobra ect.

And I happen to love my Camaro convertible - I think it adds a great element to this car and makes it even more fun to drive for me. I also have a 2nd gen built into a pro-touring car, so one of each for me - classic coupe and late model convertible. I enjoy them both for difference reasons - but there is nothing like taking a drive over to the beach or down the CA coast with the top down. The 6th gen actually has the right chassis to pull it off and not create a wet noodle like a 3rd or 4th gen convertible. Interestingly the only Camaro not to have a convertible option was the 2nd gen. Go figure. Same thing with the Mustang - available from first model year and then took a break in the 70's and back to convertibles again in the 80's and ever since.

Ain't that the truth! Used to fly to Detroit a lot for work, rent a car and head to Warren. OMFG those roads were terrible and I was happy to be in a rental car! I was more happy to NOT be on my motorcycle.
I did however find the service roads that run parallel to the highways very useful, and wish Minneapolis did that.

And who could forget Havana Heaven Cigar shop next to Jason's in Windsor Canada just over the border. whoo weeee.

It's not for everyone but heh a convertible has its own share of advantages. That open air feeling is very nice.

To be 100% honest if they didn't make the 6th gen in a convertible I would have never even looked at them

The coupe makes me feel too closed in

Yeah, I was specifically looking for a convertible when I ordered the Camaro. It jumped up to 86 on Wednesday before the cooler weather and rain came back. The top was down yesterday.

Not by GM or Ford's choice. This was due to stricter government safety regulations. This was the same time that engine HP output was decimated to meet the new emission standards.

I say let that silly comment be a motivation for us to verbally celebrate the unique greatness that is a late generation Camaro convertible. I've been driving for over 40 years and have had several nice cars. I've only felt myself repeatedly smiling just from the exhilaration of driving my '17 SS vert. I've never driven a coupe, although I've sat in one. Certainly the experience is not dissimilar to having my top up. Opening the top is transformative (BumbleBee reference unintended). The combination of open air driving with maintained superior handling and performance is truly special. Look at that recently posted video in this forum of the Swiss lady doing a review. That's a glimpse of the convertible prize. Maybe the negative comment was a tongue in cheek attempt to get us going. If so, it worked. Maybe it's out of ignorance resulting from never driving a vert. In any case I welcome the opportunity to extol the virtues of our topless gems.
