Moving to China Spring!!! I had to Marry a Texan to find it...I said you are from where??? Outside Waco... Filling in the I-35 corridor.

And she drove a '96 Red Camaro in college!

Our future his/her garage: a 2010 coupe and a '68 RS/SS. That's the goal..

Ever since the movie 'Better Off Dead' with Cusak's '67 Camaro..I have loved the 67 or 68 Camaros and always wanted to eventually get one.

Now, all I know is that I am a lucky fellow who married a camaro lovin' girl in a camaro/chevy family and am the only one to have not OWNED one yet! And when the new concept came out, I said "I HAVE GOT TO GET ONE OF THESE!"

I look forward to 2010...Until then, lookin' for a '68!

^You have seen the better off dead link where it shows the history of the ACTUAL Camaro used in the movie, right?

I guess my first memory, off the top of my head, would have to be the black 68 Camaro from Better off Dead w/ John Cusak..."I WANT MY TWO DOLLARS!!!" lol...I loved that movie and after seeing that Camaro, I wanted one bad.

The first time I really got serious about getting a Camaro was when my roommate bought a brand new 97 LT1. It was bad...and it was FAST...and I wanted one!!!

Austin Texas, y'all! Hook 'em!

Has anyone taken the heads off their Camaro? Good God it's a pain in the @ss! I started my Camaro up the other day and she wan idoling funny, so I checked the fluids, and sure enough, COOLANT IN THE OIL!!!! Yeah. I wish I bought an engine hoist. I would have been done by now if I pulled the motor out (or at least pulled it forward) before starting this project! Oh well, too far along to turn back now.

Ahhhh...think it's going to have to be a 2010 year model. I have a few things to finish paying off...like the wifes car. We can only afford one car payment and the more we pay off on her vehicle, the more we can afford for my new Camaro. Plus, we will get better stuff as the first year Camaro gets out there and in the hands of the buying public. Let the bugs get out, let the additions get in, and then I'll get mine....mainly a financial thing, but still.

Hey smike...never tried to pull heads on my own. Don't think I'd try it either...too complicated and I'd kill myself if I screwed anything up. Coolant in the oil? I've heard of that before...not good...ouch.

Tag,

Sweet....I agree with you...see what they change/update and make things even better for 2010! Which is crazy to say now!!!

And yes, save money for it also

Can't wait 'til we can all get together and over our camaros! And watch others look on with envy!

Don't worry Tag. I'm right there with 'ya. At least you've got an SS. That's a lot better than my V6. Don't get me wrong, she's been great. I just want something with a little more umph behind it. 200 horses just doesn't cut it for me. About the heads... I'm using this as an opportunity to give her a port and a polish. Even another 20 horses could come in handy. Who knows, maybe I'll do a little more work and squeeze another 100 ponies out of her to keep up with you guys. An intake, headers, a chip and a larger throttle body should do it. Maybe I'll improve the intake flow by polishing the intake manifold up a bit. That's cheap too since I can do it myself. However, time is not on my side. Sleepers are worth it though..
