Unless GM has a document explaining why the change then you can run whatever your year model manual says or go with the 2023 recommendation.

Probably just an oil they believe is better for high temps vs trying to save the cats from melting.

Ok I misunderstood, makes sense that we can also use the 0w40 dexosR, since the engine hasn't changed in the 6th gen, thanks for clarifying.

If it was this one then it was wrong and costs about half the price of Dexos2/DexosR Supercar.

They tried to sell me the second one....which I swiftly told them no.....no mention of Dexos2 on the bottle at all, and looked just like the bottles you'll find at your local VatoZone anywhere.

Most dealers are terrible. I absolutely would not trust them with maintenance. You usually have to just trust them.

You have to order online if you want the supercar 0w-40. It's well worth the peace of mind to just order it and diy

Whats the big fuss about it , Mobil 1 OW 40 advanced full synthetic Dexos certified is absolutely fine for the car
