Not getting in that line.

1. Nascar doesn't have 1000 hp

2. Not gonna get 1000 NA and pass emissions

3. Just because Ford is building a 7.0 for the SuperDuty, I don't see that in the GT 500 which has been forced induction since it's Re irth.

Yeah, right...

NASCARs top of the line runners, Monster Energy Cup (Formerly Sprint Cup, Nextel etc.), makes around 850 and I quote "Engines are optimized to run all out for no more than 1000 miles". Such an engine would absolutely be GOD AWFUL and more than likely untstreetable, even decammed.

If it's NA, prepare for no more than 600 BHP stock.

Possible 7.0L...wow....but the real question I have is that no matter what the final stage and stats of the new GT500...will I actually be able to get one....and if so, will I be able to actually get one for MSRP (LOL)

That's the big issue... If I was a Ford guy this would drive me nuts.

This thing looks pretty bad ass though. I like it.

Here's another one... supercharged GT350..

Yes, I could not get the GT350R and any reasonable price (the indicated MSRP was a complete joke) and the standard GT350 had significant mark ups as well. I can't imagine what the GT500 is going to be, but I know we can just ignore the MSRP...that is not the real price.

I have a 7.0L Vette, it's great. Always cool to see another 7.0L car, but it would be nice to be actually able to get our hands on one...

I think Ford was originally gonna bring out the GT500 earlier but then got word of the Demon and decided to put it off. I think they wanted to wait and see what they were up against. I doubt they'll be going NA. It would be extremely difficult and very very expensive to make a NA engine that can compete with even the ZL1, Z06, 13-14 GT500, etc while retaining street driveability, and emmissions standards. I don't think they'll directly try to take on the Demon. But I do think they'll make an engine in the mid 600 HP or higher range. And in order to do that they're gonna need forced induction. I think they'll utilize tech off the current GT, the GT350, and other tech along with a PD blower to get the performance they need to remain competitive.

Ford is already going away from DOHC V8's and returning to pushrod engines. Don't say never..... Over MSRP for anything is nuts, you can have those GT350's. Great car, but not better than a ZL1 1LE for the same money. I just traded a 15 GT performance pack car for my 1SS and what a better car in every way except storage.

If Ford builds a 600 HP NA GT 500 that will be my new dream car. Growing up in car era I did the number 427 was magic both from Ford and Chevy.

Ford FE 427 and the L88:

Superchargers add weight and are prone to heat soak.

I doubt this is true. Ford would have put this engine in its new gt I'd think, if it were real.
