You are absolutely correct on track prep. It is the great equalizer. I posted about the deplorable track conditions last week that were insurmountable on street tires. No amount is skill was going to get me down the track in any respectable manner.

Take that gray cover and the black heat shield underneath it off. They hold in heat. I have seen a hot manifold kill up to 7rw on the dyno.
