I was about to rag on FastCarFanBoy about comparing auto to manual, but had to delete the post. Didn't realize the GT350 only come in a 6-speed, lol. Still, it's no faster than a base SS M6 it seems.

Yep, the driver mod has to be strong in the M6s.

Cwebster is the only guy that has been able to crack an 11 with the car...he has a thread about it and basically he had to jump through some ridiculous hoops to try to trick the computer to get the car to launch. the M6 cars are turds.

GT500 went .4 faster back in 2012. Guess Chevys a bit behind...thank God for the A10 , can you imagine the "Hitler finds out about" videos if the 6th Gen ZL1 didnt come with an auto this time? LOL

11.7 to 12.2. That is a half a sec difference. I'd say that isn't even in the same league. Also, how about that 526 HP $65K GT350R being only a tenth of a sec faster than the M6 SS? LOL!! And how about the fact that Ford has nothing at all that can keep up with the slowest 650 HP car? And what about the world's slowest performance car that costs over $60K?

Yeah the M6 are turds alright. How fast is your mustang fanboi? As far as the GT500 VS ZL1 I would put my money on the ZL1 as its to close to call anyway M6 to M6. I watched a 2014 run 12.2 at gainesville raceway so I'd say they are about even with drivers being the factor

Not only is the standard Shelby overpriced...coming in at a few hundred dollars cheaper than the ZL1 yet can't hang with even the SS 1LE...but also even the more expensive R version can't beat the ZL1, any ZL1, at anything. Slowest 650 HP car? LOL, well how about the slowest car that costs over $65K? Congrats Ford. Or how about making a $65K that can't beat a $35K car? LOL! Congrats again Ford. I'll take a M6 ZL1 any day. At least I know there isn't a Mustang that can keep up at.

It's easy to forget you are comparing auto to manual times. If the GT350 is a failure with 12:20s the ZL1 manual is a bigger failure with its times and huge hp/tq advantage. How about the last ZL1 manual running 12:50s with 580hp. These auto cars are making everyone a star no matter how bad a driver you are. The car is driving you and not the other way around.

The base GT350 reaches 60 mph in 4.3 seconds after a somewhat difficult launch and does the quarter-mile in 12.5 seconds at 117 mph.

There’s no shame in the GT350’s 4.3-second zero-to-60-mph run, or its 12.5-second (@119 mph) quarter-mile time. The car is not set up for drag-race launches. Drop the clutch below 4000 rpm and the car will bog a bit as the fat rear tires maintain their death grip on the pavement.

I wasn't sure so I went looking and I found this video of the GT350 on page 1



And this video of the M6 ZL1 also on page 1
there were several other videos of struggling ZL1's but strangely I couldnt find any claimed 11 second videos of stock cars.
