Waiting on a chip?

My Camaro has been "built" (sitting at 3800) since May 18th. I called my dealer and they called GM who told them the car is waiting on a chip. Does this seem like it can be accurate or am I getting the run around? I ordered a 1LT base model.

Probably accurate but it's the defacto response to any delay..."Chips". Is that right, or not, who knows...

Mine has been on mp hold since the beginning of July for a chip. I have since seen other cars leap frog mine and have actually been delivered. It seems once you hit the holding lot your screwed. Hence all the 22’s still sitting there.

My23 was built on 6/26 / 4300MP status since 7/5.

Ive been told the same. Unfortunately with Chevy first in means LAST out.

Always wanted a Camaro for Christmas and unfortunately its looking like a reality as of now

I doubt we will see them before the first of year 23. If it’s in that yard it’s no going anywhere. There are still thousands of 22’s sitting there.

Mine sat in that holding lot for almost 3 months. Mine wasn’t on a parts hold though, it was completely built minus backup sensors and heated/cooled seats.

Thanks everyone! It's really hard to remain patient when you've been waiting since December 2021

I know the feeling my initial order was placed 16 December 2021, then switched to a dealership with an allocation.
