2023 Camaros

GM Authority reported a few weeks ago that 2023 Camaro production would start June 6th of 2022.

I know everything is crazy right now with supply chain shortages, etc., so these questions may be moot, but how far out does information about model year changes come out? When do dealerships close their current order books and start taking orders for the next model year?

Orders do not automatically get changed from ‘22 to ‘23. your dealer will need to replace the order. Someone will likely post the ‘23 order book on this site once available, the GM configuration likely won’t release until a few months after ‘23 orders start. At least that’s how it worked out last year.

Orders for ‘23 model year will probably start around April, (‘22 orders started 4/8/21), but I haven’t seen anything definite on that so far. You’ll also want to take that June date with a grain of salt. ‘22s we’re originally supposed to start production 6/14/2021, but that got bumped to August with the supply chain issues to try and work through more of the orders for ‘21s, etc. Basically, everything is subject to change, and a bit more so over the last year or so.

Thank you! That's exactly the kind of info I was looking for. I think I'm ready to try to get another Camaro and I'm sitting the fence between trying to find a 1SS 1LE on a lot, ordering a 2SS 1LE, or just waiting a few more months to see what the 2023 model year holds.

Take everything from GM Authority with a dump truck load of salt. They seem to just play up any rumors that are usually completely untrue.

My dealer is telling me that he expects information and me to be able to place an order in April. Still believes production is to start 6/6. IDK fingers crossed
