You can cross examine data from anyones PDR system... See a great lap at your favorite track on YouTube.. simply ask the person who posted it for the MP4 file and boom you have all there vehicle data (in the same format) to overlay on top of yours and see what they did compair/improve...

The only issue is that first you have to get the car to have the features of the PDR. I figure the aftermarket has better options, just like if you were to go aftermarket for a car stereo if you needed something special. GM isn't going to install the best, but they will mark it up like it's the best. Car and Driver listed this as their main source for performance testing. My order is already listed on my dealership's website after I put a down payment in the 2nd week of December, just something to think about.

Some of us are willing to wait for the car we want. We can be annoyed by the wait at the same time.

Others decide to settle and get what they can. Everyone has their own individual reasons for their actions.

Just something to think about.

Just as well, some of us will be enjoying our vehicles while some of you may not even get a vehicle. If the reports are to be believed that 2022 will only prove more shortages are coming, it will be a shame to miss out for something that can be found in the aftermarket. But I get it, if you must have it, you must have it.

Vbox as a excellent timing device, but doesn't compare for vehicle data analysis, I'll give you an example, using PDR I was able to better select brake pads because I was able to watch individual wheel speed and abs modulation to determine that when I was threshold braking my rear tires we're starting to lock up engaging abs. I was able to go with a less aggressive rear brake pad and decrease my overall braking distance...

If you just want a video lap timer there are much better options. Video is really a secondary feature of PDR in my opinion, don't forget this is built by cosworth one of the best companies for data analysis.... But people will never understand I suppose...

Nope, I definitely get it. I paid the same price for my OLED 65" TV that I could've paid for a big 90"+ monster that wasn't OLED. I am intrigued by the PDR's capabilities now, but I don't anticipate tracking my car too often and given the constraints on the PDR, I will do without. I have to admit though, before I knew that it was constrained, I considered the option. Hell, I almost wish I would've gotten the shifter emblem and the embroidered armrest, but I didn't want to risk those being constrained.

Thanks, now I want my PDR equipped car more. Haha. #waiting.
I will probably reorder 2023 anyway, so wait at least till June. Ugh.

I ordered my 1LE without PDR because my dealer had an allocation but PDR was on constraint. I didn't want to miss the opportunity.

But,
I'm working on adding it to my car when I get it. So far, it looks easier to do than the 17/18s. Possibly cheaper too. I have a source that says they can reprogram my radio to accept the PDR.

As mentioned, the PDR video is not the primary objective of the system. It is the deep vehicle data and lap data that makes it shine.

Wouldn't an AIM Solo 2 DL accomplish the same things?

Not exactly. First it's much harder to configure the data on aim, (for instance brake pressure seems to be extremely hard for anybody with aim to figure out) and then if I wanted to compare with somebody else I would have to first hope they have a good data log and then pull all their logs and video over pair them together and then overlay my logs and video... It's a pain in the ass. I'd rather just ask for their mp4 file that includes everything...

Any updates on constraints? I put my order in for a 2SS 1LE last weekend. The dealer told me they expect to start building 2SS again in mid Feb, don’t know if there’s any truth to that. Also saw someone posted in a FB group this morning that PDR is off constraint now.

I hope that is true. I’ve had a 2SS, no 1LE, on order since early September.

I wish I knew what was holding yours up. Your situation is kinda silly at this point.

In the order tracking thread, Joe said 43 2SS for this week. Would be nice to know how many pending 2SS orders there are.
