They wouldn't have taken the order otherwise. The first thing they did after going through what I wanted was to cross check that with the current constraints. And as far as removing the PDR... this will actually be a fourth car in the driveway of a single person household. It will be a weekend car primarily used for srs bznss autocross and possibly / probably track sprints. I can wait.

However I knew nothing about any of this allocation/constraint stuff and my dealer offered no information when I ordered it. However I am affected by the nationwide constraint now on 2SS. What I don't understand is what they are doing 8 hours a day in the factory since it ain't building cars. |

There's enough demand for non-constrained vehicles to keep them busy, e.g. 1LT/LT1/1SS are not constrained

And while I might be willing to get rid of that feature, I definitely want a 2SS with the 1LE package. If I can't get that, I'll just forgo the entire thing. Like KorryB, this is just a weekend toy, so while I really want one, it's not a necessity where I have to compromise because I absolutely need a vehicle.

Are the constraints just on 2SS and ZL1 cars? What about 1SS 1LEs?
Can't remember where I saw it, but supposedly Wild Cherry builds are done sometime in April 2022. Can anyone confirm this? I'm hoping mine gets in before the deadline.

The 1LE option was the only option that I was on the fence about. Hearing the reviews that if you're not going to track the car, that the ride may be a little too harsh is what ultimately swayed me. The PDR, I've already seen some good after-market products, and the fact that it doesn't remove the parking sensors is fine by me as I'd rather have a warning on approaching a curb too closely than to have the rear-end of the car stick out too far and some derp driving too close to the fire lane. But, if the GM PDR is really that important to you then it's that important to you. My point is if you know that there are supply issues with a specific option, it doesn't do any good to complain, all you can do is alter your order and hope for the best. |
