😔...so this happened

I went for what I had hoped would be a relaxing and fun drive in the north GA mountains when on my way back home this guy runs a stop sign and t-bones me. At least he owned up to it to the Union County Sheriff’s deputy. Presently, I’m still stranded here in Blairsville until the tow truck gets here to take both of us back to Woodstock. Lord I hope I’ll be happy with the repair and paint work.

Damn dude :/ That winch really dug into you. I hope it didn’t damage anything beyond the body panels

A replacement. I hear that. I’m really sick about this as I’ve read on this forum others have been about theirs. So, because of the bind this has put me in and the logistics due to distance (90 miles) from where I live, I’ve chosen my own insurance to help me out for now and then have them seek subrogation with his later. My biggest concern if repairable, and it appears that it is, is will I be “whole” again (fit, finish, diminished value). We will see. And darn it, I had just bought a helmet today before this happened over at Atlanta Motorsports Park in Dawsonville!

So, does anyone in the Acworth, Woodstock, Kennesaw area know of a top-notch body shop? Or, should I take it to a Chevrolet dealership body shop, especially since it is a 1LE and has future track days and autocross days ahead? I’ve got til Monday morning to make final decision.

I and a few of my friends have had diminished value claims before. This guy was the best. http://www.zbllc.net

Call them and ask for John. Tell him Ed K. sent you.

Good luck!

That's hard to accept even if he owned up to it, good for him you were on a relaxing drive. I too would be looking for a replacement after something like this, I think. Hope it works out!

Man that sucks Larry. I’m glad your ok. I would check with the dealer but some of the smaller ones just sub out repairs like that. I would most definitely demand only oem parts and I would want all the metal replaced no pull and patch. High end body shops can do wonders. I would let them fix it and give me DV. You can always trade it in later when you find a killer year end deal. Good luck buddy.

Thanks everyone for your kind remarks. Back home now with it stored in the garage until Monday rather than some unknown, distant storage lot.
