IIRC the 4 cyl Camaro was originally intended to rival the V6 Mustang before Ford axed it. The V6 Camaro rivaled the Ecoboost 4 cyl Mustang. They each performed and were priced similarly

Yea, but how does the camaro compare in the 'Running over pedestrians and crashing in a straight line" test?

as for model names. chevy has been stupid in that department forever. letting rpo codes dictate model names ....stupid.

I watched the video, they didn't look like they were having any fun. "Forced" is what I would call the expressions on their faces. You can tell both of them would rather be in a manual.

Except they wanted to see which car was better, not which could be equipped with inconvenient relic options that nobody wants to have in their cars anymore.

They did wax poetic about preferring that archaic relic option in their car though.

Couldn't they have compared the two based on price? If you used the extra Mustang money to put into a Camaro 2LT, at least the interiors and options would be closer. Then, there's the 4 cylinder 1LE and if they guy liked the dynamics of the 1LT on the curvy roads, Imagine what he might have thought of the 1LE?...and the price of the two would be very close at that!

In the pick next to the Mustang, The 1LT grill looks like a creepy Jack-O-Lantern Halloween grin. Chevy should just given the 4 and 6 bangers an SS grill. Sad

There's nothing wrong with the 4 cylinder turbos cars. They are entry level priced. The cars most often talked about and the ones to "get" are the Camaro SS, LT1 and Mustang GT with the V8's..

Some might opt for the turbo 4's for the fuel economy- but they require premium fuel.

Now if you want economy, decent performance and some sound, the Camaro V6, M6 has no competition in my opinion. I love my V6 1LT and would not trade it for anything. With my little tweaks- Forged 20" Stance wheels- square, custom axle back exhaust with Flowmasters- and it has stock limited slip rear axle. The car is so fun to drive, grips like crazy with the bigger tires, is way fast enough for me, has a deep tone all throughout the RPM range with dual Flowmasters. And with these mods my MPG has gone up from 33 MPG average to 36- on regular 87 gas. Great bang for the buck with LOW insurance and economy car gas mileage.

I agree! For the money it's a great bang for the buck for a daily driver
