A few lessons learned when I installed the lights:

When I finally find them for under that price, I'm going to put painters tape all over that area before "yanking out".
One is they do come as a complete, wired assembly which adds cost. But I agree they are overpriced for what they are.

Another is to be sure to shop around. The first site I was going to buy them from had them a "decent" price, but when I was checking out I saw they wanted $60 for shipping??? Noooo... not gonna happen. I found another site where the lights were $20 more but offered free shipping.

Third is the installation process. I followed a well known Camaro6 members' YouTube demo and did "yank out" the left light causing the scratch.

I was not about to repeat that mistake on the right light so I did lay down some duct tape to protect the paint. However, as I looked at the way the lights were in the car I realized that they could be popped out from the back using leverage.

Removing the light that way was much easier and more "controlled". The right light popped out with no problem.

I ordered some scratch fix from DupliColor (not in stock at the auto parts stores in my area, no many GRT cars around) and am hoping to be able to repair the scratch myself. We'll see what happens.

Hopefully the mark is not permanent.
Thanks, it's just a strip of wrap but I want to have it painted.

The mark is indeed permanent. I'm hoping to repair it myself but may have to have it repainted, we'll find out next week.

No, I didn't put put any tape down on the left light. The video made it look so easy I thought "Nah, no big deal at all". I thought WRONG.

I cut the openings in the SS hood louver trays larger to release more heat. Basically just cut out the side opposite the side already open, and saved the water tray in the center. Double the size opening should release double the heat.

Always spray wax everyday to wipe it down and keep it spotless. Since high school all i wanted was a nice car with fresh black paint that I can keep spotless like a mirror. I think i got it

Busy couple of days with the new ride...15% tint on sides and rear, performance pedals, clear rear tail lights (waiting for the third brake light from GM parts guy), dynamic diode tinted side markers, Vitese throttle controller, and Borla Atak with x-pipe and secondary cat delete. The exhaust sounds awesome and I shot a short clip of a warm start.

I didn't realize I had to reset the AFM valves and ended up with a CEL and code P069E. It came back as a Fuel Pump Control Module which didn't make sense. Anyways, spoke with the service techs at Borla and they told me to reset the AFM valves and system by disconnecting the battery for an hour, reconnect, turn on the ignition without starting, and let sit for a few minutes. Long of it is, the valves recalibrated themselves and the exhaust sounds even better. I was on the fence about the Atak and actually ordered the S-type but after Borla redesigned their valves an Atak system came in before my order and I jumped on it. Glad I did- deep rumble, lots of gurgles and pops, and not as high pitch as I thought. The videos online are deceiving and make it sound a lot more higher pitched than it is....at least from the cabin. I'll post some more videos of the exhaust in a few days but well worth the money.

Sorry about the sideways pics, couldn't figure out how to rotate them...system did it on it's own.

I'm the same way. Borderline OCD with cleaning. I had a black 00 SLP SS back in the day so I went white with my 6th gen. I'm really thinking black 1le soon. Yours just makes me want it now!
