Man my hat is off to you guys ... I saw alot of the "Track Talk" on the C7 forum...truly impressive. But I have to tell you as impressive as those burn outs are... I just see dollar bills flying out the back ...love the fact that this car/engine can be so damn versatile and at the same time give you 30mpg....it is a different era indeed...happy to be a part of it

If Chevy just did a tiny bit of marketing on these cars...they would sell in huge numbers.

So to bring this question back... how did you launch to get the best results? Idle to WOT with all nannys off in track mode? Sport mode, Launch control. What was the best?

Somehow, two of the best threads on drag strip launch technique ended without answering the questions most important. I wish the OP would answer the question just above this post. Thanks.

Drivers mode doesn't seem to matter much, but most leave it in track mode. |

Thanks, I wondered if anyone tried with and without the competitive mode Launch Control. Or if they were launching off idle or brake torqueing before releasing the brake. I may go this Thursday night and give a few of the techniques a try.

If I'd had that DA and temps I think I'd been there in the 11's also. Just didn't get enough runs to make it happen, just to many cars and limited to 2 time trials. My 60ft times were even better but at the 1/8 his really started pulling hard. Much do to the temps and DA which were very good. Its impressive to see so many really running so well and the A8 is just the star of the show with first gear being so low and the suspension and tires allowing the excellent 60ft time.

Definitely. I dropped .08 for a 800 point drop in DA. Another 1100+ drop in DA and I might've had an 11 as well.
