Non-Carbon Fiber Trim Overlays

I'm tired of being blinded by the chrome trim pieces on the steering wheel and A/C vents when the sun hits them. I have found several carbon fiber overlays for the trim pieces but I don't want carbon fiber overlays since I don't have anything else carbon fiber in my interior. I think they will look out of place for some reason.

Are there any companies that sell overlays for these trim pieces that are not carbon fiber?

Not a ton of options... some aluminum or hydro dipped colored options, or... carbon fiber, as you've seen, haha. I'm in the middle of swapping a bunch of my interior over to the real carbon fiber overlays and they look pretty good.

I'm sure the pure color ones are nice as well.

Here is a massive kit of colored pieces, lol:

And of course they sell individual pieces as well (as do other sites).

Also, could always maybe vinyl wrap pieces yourself or hydro-dip them or something.

I've been purchasing all my real carbon parts from AliExpress. Definitely cheaper than NG and CA, but you do have to wait a few weeks and takes a little patience to get the lowest price.

Everything I've gotten fits remarkably well. I'm not sure how they get them to fit so great, but wish I knew.

That being said, since they are all actual vacuum formed parts made from carbon and cleared coated there's no reason you couldn't scuff, paint and clear coat any color you'd like.

Yeah, the sites def just have worked out bulk deals with companies in China and just import them and hold a small inventory on hand for quicker shipping than what you would have from ordering directly from China via aliexpress. I do see a few parts that I cannot find on Aliexpress that some of the other sites have which may just be from them working out some kind of deal or custom ordering some pieces.

Agreed! One thing I can't find is the illuminated door handles, only can find non-illuminated. One thing I couldn't find originally but is now available on AliExpress is the center AC vents. Glad to have a matching set now.

My $5.99 solution was black plastidip, check this out and try to tell me it isn't OEM Best of all, if you don't like it, you can peel it off in seconds and do something else instead.

I think you can apply plastidip without taking the trim off. Just cover the other parts using a tape.

It needs to be pulled gently but firmly forward towards yourself, starting from either end. You can see that the clips holding it in place are marginal, not much force should be needed, direction is what matters the most.

I definitely would never recommend this for dipping any interior parts. Remove and do outside vehicle. While dip doesn't have overspray like rattle can, it definitely will still get on stuff in a min 5-6ft radius.
