I've been running the gpi piston/rod combo for a couple of months now and have been very pleased so far. I was a little concerned that the recommended .005 piston/cylinder clearance would cause false knock retard when cold or lead to greater than stock oil consumption but these concerns have proven to be completely unfounded. I am completely satisfied and recommend these parts to anyone pushing over 650 or so rwhp

I am running them as well and no issues. Great product and great people to deal with.

Did you compare the bob-weight of the new combo to the stock Pistons & Rods?
Or did you just have the new Rotating Mass balanced anyway?

I blew out a ring land in #7 after adding a Whipple. Happy to see no damage to the cylinder wall. I decided with GPI, good people and product. Slightly honed out the cylinders and plug and play. Did not need to balance. I’d suggest them to any LT1 set up.

Which kind of boost did you run and what kind of WHP when you blew out that ring?
Sounds like the GPI setup is the right thing to do. I heard that Aaron is one of the better professionals when it comes to securing the reliability of a boosted LT1 Gen.5 motor.

Did you actually weigh the stockers side-by-side to the GPI combo to verify that there is no variance (or at least no significant enough one to call for a balancing of the RA)?

I balanced mine but the amount of metal added/removed was so minor it would have been fine to have just dropped them in.

It wasn’t much. Whipple at about 6-7 boost with 3.5 upper. From what I’ve read some LT1s are fine and others not so much. Luck of the draw. Feel so much better now that I put them in and added a BTR stage 2 and turned up the boost.
