15" wheel conversion or not?

I've been planning my build since I got my car (2018 2ss M6 with mag ride). The first thing I'm doing is a drag pack and some bias ply tires. At first, I planned on staying N/A and doing the conversion so I could stay at a 26" tire. After putting some miles on the Camaro, I've decided not to make a crazy, grumbling, and rowdy N/A monster like my GTO. My thoughts are headers to NPP, bolt ons, blower cam, and a procharger on a somewhat conservative pump gas tune. Going boosted, wouldn't I be better off with a bit taller tire for longer gears? I have no plans of extensively modding the suspension. Just enough to make it stand up to the power of my build. I feel that a 28" tire would hurt my N/A times until the procharger is added, but after that point I'd see the benefits of the taller tire? I'm planning to go with a set of weld s71s. Less sidewall on a 17" wheel out back but I don't think it would hurt too bad vs a 15". I'm not trying to break any records with this thing, just optimize my setup for my goals. Those goals are a mild mannered street car when I want it, and a complete monster when I need it. Any tips or advice would be appreciated on the conversion!

starting from scratch, go with the 15inch conversion. i already have 17s so im sticking with them. if i had the factory wheels and were buying welds, id go 15s for sure.

What's your reasoning? Is your 60 suffering? Bad shift points down the track? Or just more weight savings?

I’d personally do the 15’s. I was starting from scratch and ended up going that route. Glad I did. Install didn’t take long. But note that if you get the Carlyle kit with just the caliper and rotor and buy the BMR toe rods, you’ll need an M12x80 or M12x70 button head bolt. Either one will work. Here’s mine with a 26” tire.

Looking good, you need to get that thing lowered.

Agreed looks great. It’s a shame how heavy the radial sportsman’s ended up

White with black spear looks great

Kinda funny how, whenever I see a mid- or base-level car out on the road with a tallish (for nowadays) sidewall, I immediately think how it would look better w/lower profile...

...but all of these Camaros look *awesome*.

And that's before the "go" pedal gets mashed!

My old 16SS ran 9.41@146 w/1.35 60ft on 17 Mt Street R drag radial. I think unless your making 900 or more rwhp you can easily get by with a 17" and save the money on the 15 inch conversion. Put that money in some other mod.
