Cap is like $8 from dealer. They have to order it but no shipping. Played this game yesterday. Sea check no online found stupid shipping prices. Maybe Windhammer will do us a Solid ✊ and stock this. I like them. Matt seems like a Solid ✊ citizen. USA 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Just to be clear, per the 2018 Performance supplement, it doesn't say you have to change back if you use 0W-40 or 5W-40 Dexos2.

LS/LT 1LE, SS 1LE, and ZL1
"Change the engine oil to 0W-40 or 5W-40 that meets the dexos2
specification. If this oil is not available, the following oils can be
used as an alternative: Valvoline SYNPOWER MST 5W-40 (which is Dexos2) or
Mobil 1 15W-50. If 15W-50 is used, the engine oil must be changed
after the track event.

I may just stick with the Valvoline 5/40 MST Dexos 2 and keep it simple. Still $4.99 a quart and available.

Been using Valvoline 5w40 MST for all of my oil changes (full time use, no draining). No issues, no consumption. Picked up another 20 qts for the next two oil changes. Hard to beat.

I can't say I've read all pages of this thread so forgive me if this has been answered already. What is the recommended interval between oil changes for Mobil 1 ESP 0W40?

I crossed over 200 miles on my '19 2SS and will do the first oil change at 500 miles. What's recommended thereafter?

Thnks

I use Valvoline, but I'd apply the same intervals regardless of what approved oil i used. With that in mind, i change oil when computer indicates 50%. I just look at it as an inexpensive "insurance" and been using it on various GM vehicles in the past, from a Vette track car (for about 10 years of beating up on it hard), to a DD Tahoe and Sierra hauler. Hope this helps, or at least gives ya one personal perspective. Happy New Year!

For normal DDing the olm is set for semi synthetic and you’re using full synthetic. Don’t you think that would provide the extra buffer enough to make u feel warm and fuzzy?
