17 1LE vs 17 GT350
I think this will be a super close matchup when these 2 get compared on a future H2H on motor trend. The value on the 17 1LE is going to be awesome compared to the GT350. Let me know what you think about this matchup.

While I get the heritage argument and the uniqueness and everything, I think this shows how overpriced the GT350 really is. You will spend well over $60K to get a comparably equipped GT350(decent electronics etc). It wont be much faster, if it even is faster.
I know I am not like some. To me they are all just 'things', so I could not care any less about spending $15K for heritage!

The gt350 looks cooler than the 1LE. The gt350 engine sounds amazing. I don't think the gt350 will have the chassis to seriously road course as well as the 1LE.

I think 1LE looks better than GT350 but they both look good. I think we will have a situation like the 5th gen where the 1LE was faster than the Boss 302. However despite the specialness of the Boss they are both the same price on the used market.

I agree the gt350 is a nice looking car, but I also think the 1LE is just as good looking because of the stance and blade spoiler. When it comes to sound, the 1LE blows the gt350 out of the water in my opinion.

Is it framed differently or is it just armed and sprung better than the gt car?

I agree. I think the GT350 looks cooler than the 1LE as well. There was one at the last HPDE event I did. It's a gorgeous car and sounds absolutely amazing. I also like to route for underdogs too so I kinda want to see the parts bin car with the track options package spank it. I spanked the one at my track day but he was either having heat issues or was afraid to drive it.

I agree with most who have already posted, the GT350 does look sweet, but I think the 1LE looks more like a track pack car (more mean/ all business), both look nice but in different ways. I think Ford is cashing in on the "Shelby" name and it is over priced. I do think the flat plane crank exhaust sound is bad ass.
I'll take the 1LE and $14k or so in price difference and install a supercharger on it and basically have a ZL1 in 1LE clothing with lots of $ left over still.

Now if the 1LE is nipping at the heels of the 350 or bests it, than I think its safe to say the 1LE is the best performance bargain you can buy. It will be an amazing achievement and mad props to GM. Makes me wonder how fast the Z variants will be. |

To me, that is too much for what you get. I am not thrilled with 'special' or 'unique' though, so I get that for some people it is exactly what they want. Don't get me wrong, I could never spend $58,000 on a Camaro either. At that price, only a Vette would do for me. Edit: I agree with your point on the Z28 though. GT350 showed how overpriced it was, and the 1LE will do the same...IMO of course.

I do think the GT350 is a little more unique than a 1LE. Particularly the R version. The 1LE will win on value though.
