45k is an entry level premium car. You can get an ES or a IS for that money from Lexus. My GF has a 45k dollar A4.. Ehh.

I'm gonna say it will cost $42,795 which is $5500 added to the base price of $37,295.

I very much think the $40,000 quote is a mistake. Especially since none of the team is talking about price.
I've reached out for clarification....

Excluding the standalone options, I think the 1LE Performance Package will come in at 4,500.

So $4500 + the $2600 for MRC and NPP putting it at 7100?

For anyone who is curious the 2SS comes with the following standard, over the 1SS:

Package
Memory Package recalls 2 driver "presets" for 8-way power driver seat and outside mirrors

Interior
Audio system feature, Bose premium 7-speaker system
Seats, heated driver and front passenger
Sill plates, illuminated
Steering wheel, heated
*Head-Up Display with color digital readouts for vehicle speed, selected gear, G-Force, audio system information, high-beam indicator, compass, outside air temperature, turn signals, tachometer, vehicle messages, Turn-by-Turn information and phone information
Wireless Charging for devices
Universal Home Remote includes garage door opener, 3-channel programmable
Air conditioning, dual-zone automatic climate control with individual climate settings for driver and dedicated passenger controls and outside temperature display
Lighting, interior spectrum 24 different color selections
Interior trim, aluminum accents on door trim and shifter cap
*Leather seats (not listed)

Exterior
Mirrors, outside heated power-adjustable and driver-side auto-dimming, body-color

Safety
Rear Park Assist
Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
Side Blind Zone Alert with Lane Change Alert

(things marked by * are standard on 1LE)

I guess thats worth $4000 (or less, assuming a 5K 1LE)...?

The whole purpose of 1LE is affordable performance. It's "the people's champ" if you will. No way will it cost $6k+.

The 1LE comes with MRC and NPP. As far as I know, so far the only option is the PDR.

..and who would want that over an SS 1LE? Apples to oranges in all honesty. Plus, considering rumors are the base SS can match the M4 (MT test coming out very soon), the M2 is going to lag way, way behind an SS 1LE I would bet...

Eh. I am looking at these two vehicles. The M235i is a very balanced and smooth ride, and I expect the M2 to be a continuation of that. I haven't driven a 6G yet, but I just want a car that is a balanced combination of fun on the track and comfort for the commute. The M2 may be slower but it is still plenty quick and easy to make 400 whp with the turbo.

Bottom line I am glad both 1LE and M2 exist.
