if you mod the 2ss with the same components as the 1le coolers etc does that void your warranty?

FWIW, the 1LE uses the standard SS coolers (So you'll get that equipment on your SS) |

I'd have to say that the only thing about the 1LE that I don't care for it is the hood, I'm assuming it's wrap and that it can come off like on the 5th Gens. Everything else about it is great, I like the almost minimalist approach, heck I'd be fine if it had roll up windows hahaa.

I'm on the fence about the wrap, for one it differentiates the 1LE but at the same time I don't think it looks particularly great.
what's crazy is that GM showed off the 1LE with a black car. With the black car with matte black hood was just a little off looking some may even ask what's wrong with the paint. On a contrasting color car it looks better such as the green one shown. Since I'll be ordering a Red 1LE it might look good but once you take it off it would be pricy to put it back hah. |

Hood swap is a good idea if the same color. I'm planning to just take the wrap off anyways. Never been a fan. Rather have rally stripes.

I agree, the hood wrap is the only thing I dislike about trhe package. Has there typically been an aftermarket carbon fiber hood available for these cars? i think that might be a good solution as well. The hood should be painted completely underneath that wrap from the factory as well, right?

Seeing that the hood is aluminum, I wouldn't waste money on a carbon hood.
Yes it's painted under the wrap. |

That was done on purpose to show of the contrasts of gloss black, matte black, and the gray trim all in a dark environment. I for one think that it looked fantastic in black...black is one of the best colors on the sixth gens IMO...

Oh I agree as far as weight saving go because i am a begginer level driver i wont ever really benefit. I just meant for the sake of committing to a black hood.
