Started w one of these, only thing missing is magnet to hold it in place while you slide jack under it.

I like those - a very eco-friendly solution! When they shatter the first time you use them, you can use the remains as business card holders…

I don’t really care for those ones you bolt on. They seem like they could create like a top heavy kind of scenario because there’s not enough BASE contact for support. I can imagine bad things happening. That’s just my opinion based on not knowing the exact dimensions and such though. I also don’t like stuff like that just bolted to the bottom of my car just hanging there. Just personal preference.

That’s why I made these. I use the hockey pucks now, although the wood is good too.
Glue 2 pucks together, rip 2 groves and chisel the center. Works great and it gives the bigger base contact around the pinch weld I’m looking for. I feel safe and it’s cheap

The ones on Amazon are fine.

The purpose of these is not to damage your pinch welds, and they do the job.

Leaving a tiny gap assures they wont crush into your pinch welds when jacked up, leaving flat spots.

Already lifted my car (4 post lift) on the Amazon jack pads (same ones as OP) with no damage or stability issues whatsoever.

I'm not a chassis engineer, but from a physics standpoint putting the weight on the side of the pinch welds is even better. The pinch weld (green arrow on my nursery style drawing below) is probably made strong enough to distribute the force onto the rest of the body structure, but not actually putting any force on it (blue arrows) through the use of a lift pad should be even better.
I agree 100%.
