Exhaust tip question...
Buying 2016 2SS in spring, why do some cars have 1 exhaust tip per side, and others have 2?

Dual-mode (NPP) vs. non-dual mode exhaust.

I have the npp exhaust with the quad tips. I orginally wasn't going to pay extra for it. It just happen to come with the 2ss that I made the deal for. After having it I would definitely get it again. It is awesome that you can change the loudness. I didn't think it would be loud enough for my taste in track mode before I got it but now that I have it i think it's loud enough for me.

I bought my first Camaro ( ‘18 2SS ) recently and am learning things about it every day. What is the feature NPP? I know it’s dual tips vs. single exhaust tips, but what function does it do? How do you utilize this function? Thanks

Press your mode button by your shifter and it will change the loudness of the exhaust if you have NPP. If you don't know if you have it, check to make sure that you have dual exhaust tips on each side... if not, then the mode won't change your exhaust sound.

Actually it doesn't really stand for anything. It's the RPO (regular production option) code for the dual-mode exhaust. The codes aren't abbreviations and they don't have much rhyme or reason to them. Instead of typing always “dual-mode exhaust” we use NPP.
Extract from catalog. “DUAL-MODEEXHAUST. This available performance exhaust system lets you refine the roar of the 6.2L LT1 V8 engine within each of its four driving modes — Tour, Sport, Track and Snow/Ice.”

You can also go into your options and leave NPP it on all the time no matter what driving mode you are in.

Or you can just pull fuse 51 in the under-the-hood fuse panel and it will stay open all the time. Even when set in track or sport, they will close some of the time.
