Thanks James for the insightful dialogue you brought to the show and your knowledge shows and I could have listen to this weeks show all night especially after the Camaro6 shoutout.

I wouldn't mind even the Scat Pack Charger widebody. That would make a nice daily drive, and weekend track car.

At those prices, I would be in a ZR1. That is the last front-engine manual transmission in Corvette history. A real keeper!

The base price is a higher than I expected but still reasonable as it's right there with the Challenger redeye.

However 18.5 for the Carbon Track Pack???? That thing better flat out fly and at that price better be able to best the ZLE if not the carbon track pack is a total fail IMO

Agreed, I was expecting a base price in the $69k-$75k range, so the base price wasn't much of a surprise to me. But that Carbon Fiber pack? Wow, you can buy a nice used car just for that one option.

I wouldn't mind a base with some options, like the tech pack, but deep dwon inside, I would want the carbon package, and that is crazy expensive. Again, that's putting you into ZR1 territory if you can't find a deal without ADM. Or even a nice 911.

If I had the funds to buy a car in that price range, the base would be just fine with me. The press release mentioned the 12" LCD as standard (or at least implied its standard) so should be pretty well loaded. I wouldn't want the Carbon Pack, because I know I'd never use it to it's capabilities just like if I bought a ZL1, id never consider the ZLE.

But at that price range, I think i'd rather have a Corvette still

Right! That is almost comical that it costs that much. The difference from 350 to 350R was only like 8500 I think, what the hell does this have that costs 10K more than that!

So it looks like $78,495.00 for the 500 with the handling and tech package options included.

The reason I wouldn't want the 1LE pacakge on a ZL1 is the harsh DSSV dampers. Great on the track, but I would spend most of my time on the street anyway, so it would be overkill for me. But the Carbon pacakge really attracts me becuase of the carbon fiber wheels. Reducing the rotating and unsprung mass by that much would be pretty huge. Epsecially considering the size/weight of the braking system. I am sure it really livens up the front end by a very noticable amount.
