Live from the drag strip. First time ever.

Hey.

I'm at the drag strip, first time ever I'll be doing that. Really excited to feel the thrill.

It can get addictive, very quickly! Good luck with your times.

That was an amazing experience! Totally agree with you Josh, it is addictive! But I have other priorities in life and racing is not part of it unfortunately. But I wanted to try it once.

I have taken some videos, not the best since I am not well equipped fort it and because my windshield was dirty as hell haha.

My best time was a 14.869, on one of them, the reaction time was... 3.1 sec. Ended up having to back off slightly and forgot to put it back in gear before launching haha.

Fastest I've been able to read on the speedo was 180km/h. Was waiting last minute to brake.

Overall, really fun experience!

If I ever go again, I'll have to practice my launch and reaction time.

Here are some time slips. Note that the car 296 was my buddy in his 2012 BRZ stock. Car 219 was a 2SS with passenger and rear seats deleted. Also, the slip where I ended up at 65 mph and my buddy at 71... Well it was our first run ever for each and we didn't know where to stop... We ended up slowing down before the 1/4 mark... *Facepalm*. Better be safe than sorry!

Except for my reaction time, I see some improvement after each run.

Cool, does the track provide the slips electronically?
I am just across the border at Thousand islands, little bit of hike east to Quebec though

Yep, you just go there, pay 10$ CAD, they put the number on your car and you do as many runs as you want from 7pm to 10pm on Fridays.

Then just open the app and search for your car number. I don't know how it works exactly, either there's a scan that looks at the car number or if a guy enters the numbers manually, but I had one slip that had my number but it definitely wasn't my car.

But still you can get the paper slip after you run as well.

Maybe we can meet up there next year!

....said every one of us who’s lined up at a Christmas tree.

Good that you had a fun time doing what the car was built to do!

Post some photos if you get a chance.
