Yep, I suck. What a boner move. That is the first time I have ever not looked at my logs. That adjustment with a cool off period would have put us there.
Tim, you can borrow the drag pack any time. Not an NHRA track so you get to do what you want.

According to Air Density Online and Drag times the DA was -1300 to -1400. According to my Kestrel it was -900 to -1000. The Kestrel always reads +400 above the online stuff.

Reaction time was not my concern. No one to beat but the record.

Yeah, that Mustang guy kind of showed he's an obvious rookie.

A well tuned good driver e85 SS is gonna surprise a few ZL1 guys at the track next spring (if you even see one).
The video shows your car squatting on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts and no barking out the exhaust..love it. I see you have minshaft DA but I've been reading that e85 if less prone to temperature swings than gasoline so hopefully you will not give back too much in less than perfect air. A full weight 10 second pass seemed like a fantasy a month ago....now I have visions of sugarplumbs dancing in my head.

Parish8,
I'm looking forward to see what happens this year on that front. We really need a quality TC option for the A8s. I need to call Yank and see where they are at with this platform. A 3200 stall would be pretty significant on a street/strip car. Tim |

I don't think the NAs need huge converters, 2500-3000 should be plenty. Too much looses mph down track unless you just run 1/8 mile a lot. If you start getting real nasty off the line you might want to think about slicks so it doesn't shock the drive train as much as the drag radial does, you'll have less parts breakage as I've found out with my Vet and a few other cars.

CircleD has a couple of options ready to go. I got burned by yank awhile back, I probably won't give them any more of my money.

I appreciate the props bro. Like FMJ said, this was an all out assault on the record. Well, not an all out one but one none the less.

The only reason this car isn't in the 10's right now is my own fault. I made a hasty error and didn't check my work. Plain and simple. The next time the track is open I will hit it again. I will be on true E85 and have my tune dialed in. As much as it pains me to say it, I think a ported MSD in this exact scenario would shine. If I could have raised shift points to 6,700+ and taken advantage of all that extra top end shift extension power we would have been deep into the high tens. Add headers to that and this is a 10 sec car in pretty much any weather I am going to see. My stock converter was actually flashing to 2,700 pretty consistently. But then it comes on hard and there is no more slip. Huge RPM plateau. Pulling through that would have been worth a lot. I am also bringing the shift barking back. But it will be dialed way back. I have some ideas that we didn't have time to try. I will load them up and log them to see what's up. I will report back when I have it all dialed in. If it works it will be best of both worlds. We are just getting started guys. You will all dominate me next season. It is inevitable.
