Thank you PMC. Offense sells tickets, defense wins championships. No one has thrown the football for more yards in as many games than Matt Stafford. The last time he made the playoffs, he had the number two defense in the league. Since then ,no playoffs.

He has a .519 winning percentage, w/ 14 wins and 13 losses... 5th place.

Better than Dan Marino, Danny White, Steve McNair, Phillip Rivers... and even Warren Moon.

I don't know why anyone is comparing Manning to Moon. Manning is far better than Moon.

I will say SB wins should weigh less on evaluating a QB, than their whole body of work. Mainly because you can win the SB with average to below average QB's, but you can't with an elite qb and garbage defense. It's never happened. Closest was, ironically, the 2006 colts. their defense in regular season was not that great, but in the playoffs/SB, they stepped up.

If he was very, very good... what does that make Peyton?

Manning was elite. there's no comparison. Not because of the SB rings, but because of how he played the game.

Thank you for the response. I'm just trying to gauge where you are on a players game scale.

I tossed in the rings, well... because.

Peyton was one of the all time greats, there is no question. Possibly the best regular season QB's of all time. His playoff record was barely over .500. If he wouldn't have 'hitched a ride' with the Broncos at the end of his career, and got to two super bowls, wich he was 1-1, he would have been under .500 in the playoffs. I was commenting on you saying none of the oilers QB's were great. I would say that none were great, but I think moon was very, very good. IMO.

Your correct, I reread your post, I edited my post to reflect you said great ,not good. You were too fast for my edit. Still I never claimed Moon was great, just very, very good. Now Earl Campbell, great!
