Talking 5-30 or 0-40

Time for another oil change and was thinking of switching it up to 0-40. I know in 2018 they recommended 5-30 but I live in cali and am using e-85 so I thought the 0-40 might work better for me? What are your thoughts?

What oil are you guys using btw? I've been using amsoil because its been recommended by everyone.

Right now I'm using Mobil1 0w40 ESP Formula (the $10/qt variety). My car is a show/weekend car and with ~3k mi per year I'm only doing annual changes @ about 15% OLM, so I won't have the blackstone report on the current fill until about July/August 2020. Below are the blackstone reports for the 5w30 Dexos oils I've previously used: Supertech and Valvoline. Both were fine with plenty of remaining base# in the Valvoline.

The Project Farm series is one of the best objective and most scientific tests on engine oils I've ever seen. Here's the finale, but there are several videos comparing many, many oils:
