Tire selection.
Hello, I am a beginner of drag race.
Recently, I purchased NT05R, a kind of drag radial. 305-35-19 I realized the track prohibited "burnout" due to it is not for the drag. And I ran without burnout. In this case, seems the traction is worse than PS4S, a street tire. Can't hook up even at 2nd gear at all. Lastly , I put 4 of water bottle boxes in the trunk, and it was little better. Do I better run with the street tire in this case? My power range is 750rwhp with whipple sc. Thanks |

I don't understand why they wouldn't let you do a burnout? The NT05r is certainly a drag radial...

If you are not allowed to do a burnout, guess that you could try using tire warmers. You'd need to jack up the car, put the warmers onto the rear tires, and hook up a generator to power them; then when you are getting ready to run, turn off the warmers, pull them off the tires, and lower the car back down.

I get better traction with DRs on the street. With your power with no burnout it is going to hard to hook.
