Road Trip - SW Fla to Michigan
Drove the ZL1 from Naples, FL to Troy, MI this week.
About 1350 miles averaged 23.5 mpg. Not bad given this is a SC engine. My 2017 SS MN6 never got much more than on the long trips. The A10 is great, I love it. Georgia roads suck, KY really suck, Ohio same...... The car is very comfortable, I had the back seat folded down and I had a big box in the back seat- wouldn't fit in trunk. Definitely more noise. This ZL1 has a strange history. Built 12/18 and purchased 5/19 in Ohio. Ended up in Chicago, went to auction Jan 2021 with 5200 miles- then down to Tampa at 6300 miles and I bought it April 23rd trading in my 2017 SS. The ONLY maintenance I could find is the oil change just before I purchased it. There were NO Owners Manuals etc, and only ONE key....

Looking to long-distance driving my ZL1 next year most likely to Florida. Any issues with comfort and what was the average speed. I was spoiled with the V6 in my 2017 Vert Camaro and it could get 40 mpg and that's not going to happen in the ZL1.

Ha, you think GA roads suck? Don't even think about taking I 95 through South Carolina.....
The back seat down does make it louder in the car and with the windows down, you kinda get that helicopter reverberation going on. |

Yeah, that’s cute. We have a governor who won election based on a slogan of “Fix the damn roads”.

Last year 1045 mi business trip to Venice, Fl. Drove 14 1/2 hrs straight thru, avg 23.5 mpg. Did the same on return. Love this ZL1, it does it all and comfortable while doing it.

No comfort issues, car rides harder than SS. I think its the low profile tires.

I made a similar trip in June 2020 when I bought my ZL1 1LE. Orlando to Grand Rapids. Bought it in Orlando and we stayed in Daytona Beach for a couple days, Then made our way to tail of the dragon and Gatlinburg for a couple more days, then home from there. 1600 miles to get to know the new car. Loved every minute of it! I'm Looking at making the trip again from GR to Naples and keeping the car down there at my dads place so I can do some track days this winter at Sebring and Daytona.

The tour mode is nice but not much different than sport mode.

We put over 6k miles on our 50th SS last August, Sacramento to Chattanooga and back. I absolutely loved it, the car was awesome, got between 24/27 mpg driving above the speed limit when conditions permitted.
The longest trip we've taken the ZL1 was a 300 + mile trip to Pismo Beach. Low profile tires and California roads are not a good combination 😕. Also, I definitely prefer the SS seats over the ZL1 seats for trips.
