Splined strut bolt spun

Anything I need to worry about? My fault I didn’t know the damn things were splined and put a beefy impact on the bolt. Now instead of a interference fit it’s a zero tolerance fit lol.

I assume from what I can tell the splines are likely for easier install during manufacturing (and alignment) - and really do nothing to hold alignment (clamping of strut does that from what I’ve read).

But just want to confirm that’s the truth. Worse come to worse I could flip the bolt around I suppose. Thoughts?

Pictures would help this a lot.

Couldn't place your issue.

Here’s a pic. Bolt is splined and interference fit into the steering knuckle.

It’s still tight (can’t spin it by hand) but you can spin it with a wrench. Basically my only concern is if the interference fit does anything to hold the alignment, if not and it’s all the clamping force then I have nothing to worry about.

I just had to put a wrench on the bolt side to tighten vs just torquing the nut down.

Should be alright, as long as it's torqued to spec.

Mine is the same way, alignment hasn't moved at all, i just make sure it's tight.
