Dual gauge install question
Hey guys,
I'm installing 2 guages on the A pillar and had a question about pulling power for them. Can I run both guages off one circuit like the cigarette lighter plug? I've read I can use the afm power and ground in passenger footwell also, so if I have to I'll run one off of each. It would just be easier to run it off one and not sure if it'll work. Thanks for any info |

These gauges generally do not draw much power at all. Most Cigarette lighters have a 15 Amp fuse. Not sure on our cars, but 15 amps is a LOT of juice for a couple gauges. The cig lighter wiring should power it without an issue. What are the two gauges you want to use? Can probably find the specs on them.

A lot of gauges, like the Banks iDash, just pull power from the OBD-II connector under the dash. Plug and play.

Its an Aem wideband and aeroforce. Thanks for the responses
Got pointed in the right direction between here and the zl1 subforum. Should I run a fuse of the splice to each gauge to be safe or is it overkill? |

I’m doing an add/circuit off AFM fuse 43 for my AEM. My banks is just OBD2 so plug/play. I would think your Aeroforce is prob the same.
I think AEM says to use a 10amp fuse (double check). If in cig circuit I’d put an inline 10amp in…. Prob not a big deal but that’s what they recommend.

Finally getting around to installing. I'm an idiot and didn't realize the 3 wire pigtail that came with the aeroforce gauge wasn't needed in addition to the obd2 connection like was said. Using an add a circuit for the aem wideband. Very easy install, thought it was more involved. Thanks everyone!

Installed the gauges, ran an add a circuit off the heated steering wheel fuse from the trunk with the jms wires to the front. Those hooked up to the aem wideband gauge. I thought the Aeroforce had power from obd2. Hold the start button down for 10 seconds, aem comes on saying heat. ( im assuming this is waiting for the sensor to heat up) however aeroforce Is dead. Not sure if the connector isn't in all the way, or I need to run the 3 wire pigtail in addition to the obd2 cable. Anyone have advice? Contacted aeroforce and waiting for a response.

Took the a pillar mount off again and put the empty pigtail in. Also made sure bottom connector was in all the way. All is good!
