Weird power drop off - 2019 A10

Went to get a baseline dyno today, in 6th gear it fell on its face at ~5900. Knock sensor activity picked up. We logged it and everything was good, AFR, etc.. stock calibration. At first thought it was torque converter slip but the logs showed that was ok. No misfires…. Thinking maybe bad fuel (it was family express fuel - I know I was low and just threw in a few gallons. 93 though). Just odd. Made good power. 7th gear it stumbled ever so slightly but not as bad. Thoughts?

Mustang dyno, 1st picture is in 6th. 2nd (420hp) was in 7th.

If it is knocking, you'll need more octane.

These engines will show knock on the stock tune. The knock sensors are calibrated to be very sensitive. They could probably detect a bee buzzing in your air intake box and signal the ECU to pull timing.

That being said what I see in the graph could be some random Torque Management BS...perhaps the ECU closed the throttle?

I’m going to see if he saved the logs. I believe the TB stayed open when we looked at it.

I do have a throttle controller. I wonder if that could cause some funkiness, or just chalk it up to what 95 Imp said and need more octane. Hello E85 lol.

Regardless, throwing on CSP headers/MSD/solar 95mm/e85 over the next few weeks. Then we will throw it back on and see how she goes.

Throw the throttle controller in the trash.

I plan too. It was kind of fun when I first put it on, but to be honest got a little annoying. Taking off from a start if I didn’t want to have to baby the throttle I had it dialed back to almost stock anyways.

Next dyno session, take 2 gallons of xylene. one gallon of xylene will take your octane up 2 points for every 10 gallons of gas.

Throw one in and see if your KS back off. Depending, you can add the second to see if they completely go quiet.
