CSP Racing 2" Longtubes w/Jet Hot Coating - pics inside

Buddy's parts just showed up from CSP Racing after a trip to Jet Hot. Fabulous quality for the headers. G-Sport GESI Gen 2 850hp per bank cats, 304 stainless, full mandrel primaries, merge collector spike for scavenging, heavy duty stainless hardware for header bolts and collector nuts/bolts, o2 sensor goop, o2 extensions, etc.

Reports coming back soon on fitment.

Look nice but if/how well they fit is most important.

They fit fine. I’ve already posted several screenshots.

Too bad they get mostly hidden.
Heard nothing but good things about these.

They will be welding up a Ballenger Wideband on the drivers side ahead of the cat and after the ball joint, using a NTK lab grade sensor for his car. I think he picked up ARP stainless bolts/nuts as well for the collectors. Will post it up once done.

Is there any reason to go with the CSP headers over the Kooks? It looks like it would be about $200 cheaper for nearly the same thing with the Kooks.

Yes. Kooks is known (reported by several top tuners) to cause false knock due to contact and noise from the engine mount area based on their design. The knock sensors usually have to be desensitized in that RPM range due to this in the tune to account for it per CSP. Kooks' customer service is awful as well, my buddy and I can attest to that first hand, although their product quality is good aside from the knock topic.

CSP's headers are designed to have the most clearance possible for all available headers to eliminate false knock concerns and to ease the installation as well. They are custom made by Stainless Works to CSP's specs. CSP actually sent the requested changes to Kooks (Andrew did) due to the false knock/vibrations/contact at times and they blew him off, so he made his own.

These headers should be able to use the stock knock profile vs having to customize it as much as with other aftermarket header designs.

In addition, CSP is the only one with the G-Sport GESI Gen 2 EPA Compliant cat option which are rated to 850hp per bank, vs the standard 350-500hp per bank like Kooks green cats. They are larger diameter and spiral wound internally like HJS cats to help avoid blow out of the internals at high power ranges.

Video about the headers from CSP:

I’m about to order the same setup. When you choose the catted option, do they also give you the non catted pipes too if you ever decide to go catless?

No they do not. Stainless Works wont ship catless pipes with component cats in the box or cats added to them. As such, when you get the GESI Gen 2 cats already welded, that is all that comes. Check stock fyi, G-Sport is re-branding their cats and there is a shortage (as with everything these days).

Nothing wrong with the Kooks headers, top shops like Vengeance Racing uses them. Seems like the biggest decision maker is cost. CSP is cheaper and uses ball flanges which some prefer. Both headers are fine, as well as ARH.

I was thinking about putting my AEM wideband in this spot as well. That way I don’t have to cut/weld a bung on the headers. That makes me nervous lol.

Think there’s any concerns about having the wideband after the ball joint or should be good to go?

Yeah that’s what I figured. It looks like the GESI cats are out of stock. I should have pulled the trigger a few weeks ago when they had a batch.
