ZL1 rockers

Hello

I would like to upgrade my rockers on my 2015 1le to the zL1 style and was wondering if anyone knew of a good source to purchase them?

I reached out to Gary’s custom and have a price from him shipped but I would like to compare prices

Thanks!

painted or unpainted?

Check with your local dealer and see what they charge. Ebay also has a ton of OEM rockers for around $200 unpainted and free shipping, you would just have to get a paint shop to paint match.

ZL1 rockers

Obviously painted would be the easiest however I am willing to have them painted locally

I’ve never really bought anything off eBay before is that a good option?

Gary’s told me that it would be close to 900 bucks, painted and shipped

Their quality is great, their turn around on orders and customer service, well those areas need to be greatly improved.

Gary's is high but he does quality work, good service, and fairly decent on turn around on orders (though painted depends on what kind of local demand he has at his shop)

RPI is cheaper (about $200 less than Gary). Does quality work but will take 3-4 months to get them, and their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

Ebay and having them painted locally is by far the cheapest (how much depends on how much your paint shop charges but shouldn't be no more than $200). When buying OEM parts on Ebay, you are usually buying from a dealership so the turnaround time and service are usually decent. The quality of paint will depend on your paint shop but since they have the actual car, the paint will be a closer match than any other option.

They all have their pros and cons. If you want the cheapest way possible, Ebay but this requires more work and running around on your part than the others. If you want the best possible results with as little work and head ache as possible, then Gary's but you pay extra for that convenience. RPI is middle of the road. If you want to save some money but are in no rush for the rockers and don't want the head ache of driving around getting quotes from local paint shops.

Do you know if RPI uses actually GM Stamped parts?

Was going to order off GMParts Direct because theres are actually cheaper for nonpainted (i.e. $440) compared to RPI but when I got a shipping quote his was ($38 and GMParts was $227 lol)

Yes they are GM parts and supplied with new tabs and door seals. Everything lined up perfect. RPI even did custom painting for me for a slight upcharge. I had the upper half of the rocker painted victory red and the bottom half painted gloss black.

Awesome thx. This is for an insurance claim that they will be repainting the car so I am going to have them paint them. Just figured if it is cheaper to order the same parts through him than GM parts direct might as well.

I got a set from Gary not long ago. If you want the complete skirt painted you need to look elsewhere. Other than that I would go with him again.

I got mine painted from RPI Designs way back before COVID and didn't take too long to get. My last purchase from them, last year,a CF Hydro dipped Z28 front splitter took me 15 weeks to get!!! But it is a very nice piece and turned out great. On the rockers I got from them, yes they are OEM stamped pieces, mine were. Garys is a great place to get them and he does great work!! I have seen his stuff. I didn't buy from him mainly because when I bought mine, I didn't know of him. If you can get them from GM and have them painted locally, that would be your best bet to save some bucks..
