I think we can be sure they have cancelled all focus groups (see 2019 Camaro front end).

I would love to hear how the meeting went where that front end got approved. Personally, I think its fun to imagine that everyone present thought it was great -except for 1 person who was desperate to convince them all that they're insane (and obviously failed miserably).

Hahaha, exactly right. No way that sober people came up with and/or approved that design. Chevy's HD market share is about to take a massive hit.

Hey, for anyone who cares ... I was listening to the podcast version of Autoline After Hours this afternoon and thought the name of their guest seemed a little familiar. Martinjlm was talking about the Camaro's 'cancellation'/future (though most of the show is about other things).

That says it all right there.... who cares?

But seriously, I really enjoyed doing that show. One of the more fun aspects of my job.

Excellent interview Martin. There were some really insightful comments regarding the Camaro cancellation and the the future of the Mustang. Things are changing faster then I imagined.

Martin, congratulations on the show. Very informative and interesting. I enjoyed it. It answered a lot of questions that I could never have thought to ask...lol...

I would recommend everyone view it. (the whole thing). Yes, I would agree things are changing fast, but the ICE future is a big part of that change. It is not "disappearing" any time soon, if ever.

That was a very concise explanation of what is currently happening with the Camaro. I can understand how GM is handling the Camaro at this moment. It was a sensation for its entire 5th generation run, but somehow the Camaro came across sales difficulty in the 6th generation. Perhaps the design was less retro (and therefore less recognizable) to its fan base. It is really hard to say what the exact reason for its sales lag. The 6th gen Camaro is a very attractive and very capable automobile, so it is hardly a manufacturing failure. Sometimes it takes a little while for a generation to gel; I recall the second gen. Camaro having similar sales trouble during its run up to 1979, where it had one of its best selling years. I feel that GM should continue to work with Camaro and other good platforms, instead of compulsively cutting a model if it doesn't sell.

I thought it might look better upside down, but no...The headlights and their mis-matched plastic housing look like the wrong parts were used. How could they think this actually looks ok? Good grief.

Not to worry, though....The appeal of the cheese-grater look will likely be real popular....lol

Apple is just going retro. They already did the cheese grater, just got a finer grated cheese in the original design where the retro inspired one is a thicker cut.

Eh, yes and no. Mercedes and BMW have both done the same thing with two tiers to their performance brands. It's why you see AMG badges slapped on everything now and odd stuff like "M235i."
