Remove Front Grille Inserts?

Anybody know how to remove the Front grille inserts? I'm trying to wrap them in carbon fiber black

You need to remove the front bumper. Takes about an hour. It helps to remove the front tires when doing it.

Wait I have to remove the front bumper? I can't do it without removing the bumper?

Not that big of a deal, If you cant do it, Take it to a Body Shop, They will be able to do it in NO TIME!!!!

Take it from me, SS or not, to remove the grilles, you need to remove the whole front clip.

Hey ant when removing and re-installing have you ever had any alignment issues,i see people removing and re-installing all the time just wondering if theres much adjusment needed

I had to run the screws in under the wheel wells a little at a time on each side to keep it aligned perfectly but it wasn't as bad as it sounds.

Well, if the inserts are like the SS SEMA grille, they basically can only be removed from behind so again the grille needs to be removed.

I'm Gonna try to remove them without opening the whole front bumper. I'll keep you guys posted if I do.

I thought you meant the entire grill insert, didn't realize you were talking about the chrome. Being that I have a SS I don't know sorry. Give it a shot with a pry tool

Has anyone by chance tried to remove the chrome SS inserts under the lower DRL's? I've been wanting to darken them. (IF anyone could point me to a mechanical assembly drawing for the bumper that would be greatly appreciated too)

I wrapped every piece that you are looking at , with the grill on the car, it's not hard at all and it looks extremely professional after a year.
