Here are a couple shots of the Cordes Performance 1 Gallon tank.
They send it with hoses, fittings, hose heat shrink and it goes inline with the output (same as the fill point) of the intercoolers and the return inlet on the pump.

Yes, this tank setup makes vacuum filling and/or air in the system a non issue. It replaces the outlet hose on the intercooler manifold that goes to the pump inlet. Instead it goes to the upper port on the reservoir. Then a new hose goes from the bottom of the tank to the pump inlet. So yes, it’s an “inline” setup. The design makes it self bleeding. Any air will get purged out the upper port of the reservoir. It’s also the highest point in the system, which is how just about all OEM systems are designed. As far as how you’d know if you have air in your factory intercooler circuit? Lack of performance or high IAT2 readings are what I’d suspect. But there’s no easy way to check or verify this — other than having someone vacuum fill the system. A reservoir like this eliminates the problem all together. |

Do we need to drain, for installation? What happens when you remove the in pump tube? Leaks everywhere if not drained? Can we re-use the OEM tube, I mean just disconnecting the upper part, then plug it to the bottom of the tank, Fix the tank close to the intake for that, and just connect the upper tube from the tank to the engine... No need to work close to the pump, only high connections... Can be done with no leaks? Other question: The OEM tank for intercoller is the bottom one, am I right? What about the level? Do we have to fill from there, or new tank, or both? |

Question, does this ADM Performance Intercooler Reservoir and the Cordes Performance Gallon Intercooler tank serve the same purpose or not.In other word, can you have both or not.

same purpose...one or the other. There is no need for both setups. The only difference is the position of the reservoir and the capacity.

Is the tank specific?
I mean does it have some compartment or something else to help the air escape from the system? Cap is closed to keep pressure? Or a hose at the top to release air? Just wondering... If just a tank and 2 pipes with connections ~245$ should be a gold tank :-) |

It's just a tank with hose connections. If there is any air in the rest of your system, the coolant in the tank will replace the air as it hopefully makes its way into the tank. So when you remove the lid, the coolant level would be lower, and then you'd add more coolant.

I attempted to install the ADM tank tonight and the line supplied from the bottom of the tank to the pump was way too short. It was the same length as the factory line but the tank is way further back than the factory connection. Can anybody assist with this?

I'm Sorry, I am a bit dense.
I asked ADM for instructions and got this. Drain intercooler or not. You will spill a small amount or you may not, either is fine Remove the hose that goes from the supercharger to the pump. Install tank on stud on driver shock tower and install Hose to Supercharger and other to pump. Fill with coolant. Okay, yea the reservoir is pretty obvious. But the rest of it requires some thinking. So now I am still confused. I also understand now I have to take the intake tube off for this. What a drag with the Rotofab, but okay this is worth it. The kit supplies you with 2 hoses. The short one with the factory connection goes from #2 above to the tank. Do I have that right? But then I have an open spot tube on the pump. But I have the second longer hose, does that go from the pump to #2. Is that also right? But then doesn't that leave another connection open? Also removing the exisiting hose connections looks tricky. Not a 10 minute install I think.

It’s actually pretty simple. You’re going to remove the factory hose (the one with the fill port) that goes from the intercooler manifold on the blower to the pump. ADM gives you 2 new hoses: 1 goes from the port on the intercooler manifold to the new tank. The other goes from the pump to the new tank. And yes, you’ll want to at least partially remove the intake. I just removed the elbow section between the TB and air box on my Roto-Fab. Try to find the cleanest way to route the new hose, and secure it with some zip ties. If I have some pics, I’ll post them. |

Here’s a couple I took during the install. Not great, but it shows how the hose connected to the blower manifold, and a little of how I routed the new hose to the pump.
Oh...I also swapped out the worm clamps for factory style squeeze clamps. And I had to sand down the upper port on the tank. Mine had a big imperfection (looked to be from the molding process) that was causing a leak. Sanded it smooth, and all was good. |
