I am in traffic quite often over the last 2 1/2 years, have the message pop up once in awhile, but NEVER been locked out of second, not once. I see no need for an eliminator, never had the "feature" bother me. Just drive right on through, easy.

The merits of the skip shift eliminator have been widely debated in this forum for the 9+ years I've been reading it. Seems like there are two camps: those whose driving style never triggers the 1-4 shift, and those who get on almost every drive. I'm definitely in the latter group. To me, feeling the push while shifting out of first gear and the subsequent lug of the engine was extremely frustrating. The 15-20 dollars I spent on my '13 and then '17 verts we're the best thing I've done on those cars. The dash/heads up notification still shows when the 1-4 would've happened. I see it a lot and it's a nice reminder that I killed that nuisance. So, arguing whether the device is worthy is rather pointless. If the skip shift bothers you, the eliminator is a beautiful thing.

I had the skip shift function turned off on my C6 when it was tuned after installing Kooks headers and cats, but so far it hasn't bothered me enough in the Camaro to want to disable the function.

Now if we eliminate pointless arguing we'll be down to 3 posts/week here!
The situation is someone always poses the question, "Should I bother with this thing?"
And then both camps get going again!

Lol, true. There used to be some pretty good knockdown/drag out V8 vs.V6 threads on here (mostly camaro5).
Auto vs. manual are always good.
What oil should I use?
and #1 - Which CAI is best?

My skip shift eliminator will be at 1500 miles. There will be no more slow starts

And for the record, it is not 1-4 shift, it is 1-anything but 2 shift.

That's the one I got in 2017. Still works fine.
