Meh, I deleted a few words somehow, sorry, the meaning went through.

You need to enable auto memory recall for this to work. Seat memory (driving) positions 1 and 2 are paired automatically to key fobs 1 and 2, respectively, which is obviously pretty neat if someone else also drives your car.

Thanks, and I just tested out hitting the start button, it will start moving me forward. I just hate hitting it more than once. I wish it had the option to adjust after closing door with the keyfob in.

Programed it and worked a couple of times. Then nothing. Worked later. Then nothing. Buttons work at the setting if you hold them down. Junk program and junk buttons. My truck works fine and just push the button once.

Alas, GM added this "safety feature" to the Camaro, one needs to hold memory buttons down until the seat stops moving. My wife's SUV is also a GM product (and a 2016 model year at that), yet the same feature works there as it should, you just tap the button and the seat moves into the selected position.

The auto exit feature does work, though, once you open the door, the seat slides back to the exit position on its own, and it also slides back to position 1 or 2 (depending on the fob) upon entry and pushing the engine start button.

I had a similar experience with my new 2022, where the feature would seemingly work intermittently. I couldn’t believe my car was defective, so I kept playing with things until I realized I had to ensure the parking brake is turned on and the ignition is turned off before I open the door to exit. If I do those 2 things, then the seat 100% reliably moves back to easy exit.

And yes, after getting in the car, I need to quickly/briefly pressed the start button for the seat to move back.

This is not how my other vehicles work, but now I know what I need to do

Only if you engage parking brake. Otherwise - nope.

mariojas is absolutely right, if it is a manual trans vehicle it will move to the easy exit position but if the EPB isn’t set it will not reposition for the driver.
Also, it wasn’t put in the owners manual till the 2018 my.

It's second nature to me. What else would hold the car in place then, the parking pawl? I live in East Tennessee, it's all hills and valleys here

In garage gear is enough

BTW. I wished the car would engage parking brake by itself. I had 2010 Renault Laguna in Poland which did that... No problems with that, so I don't know why there is no an option like that. Especially that it disengages automatically when you release a bit clutch and add a bit of gas... Like my Laguna did too.

Yeah, you're right, I've gotten too used to lazy auto lyfe, heh If I still had a stick shift, I'd also just put her in gear and turn the wheel towards or away from the curb if parked outside.

The car does nudge you towards using the parking brake all the time with this subtle "conditioning", though.

I think the parking brake is the problem!
