Winter Driving in a 2014 RS

My winter vehicle needs a lot of work and I'm thinking of getting rid of it and maybe driving the Camaro year round.

How are the 2014 Camaro V6's in the snow? I haven't driven my Camaro in the snow ever and currently have Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires and wonder if they would be good in the snow? Does anyone drive theirs in the snow up in New England?

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Those are still all-seasons, correct? You will want real snow tires. Also, do you have a VTC? I use my VTC on the econo settings when the roads are slick, and it slows down the wheel spin significantly.

It should definitely fare well in the snow. A lot of people daily drive SS's in the snow with the right set of tires, so totally doable. I have no experience with those tires those. If they work well in snow as claimed, you should be fine. if not, swap them out for snow tires when the time comes and you'll be golden!

I drive mine year round and hasn't let me down. Although, I do have a second set of wheels/tires for snow. Blizzaks are awesome in the snow!

Started with my 10 rs and upgraded to my 14 ss both daily drivers in s.w. colorado winters.

Snow tires are a must!!! It's a risky move to run all seasons in negative and icey conditions . I run 2 sets of shoes every year

Having grown up in CT, I would not torture my Camaro with the road salt, sand, and chemicals they put down on the roads. Get a small used 4x4 to beat on in the winter.

Here in NC I drive my Camaro year round but if there is a chance of inclement weather with other drivers getting stupid I drive my truck.

PA here, daily drive my 1LS on a set of dedicated blizzaks. 3 winters now and the car has been great to me.

With everything else, you can't go in too deep of snow, and the fronts of these cars are low...

I've driven the car at normal speed passing people in the ditch and driving 15 mph. I've had the Blizzak tires for about two years and never had any issues. With the car being washed weekly and under body and rust proofing done every year. I know this car will last me a very very long time and every now and then I turn the traction off and have a little fun

Good tires are key, I drove my '10 LS with all seasons on it for 5 years with very little trouble. Last fall I upgraded to an '11 SS, the stock Pirellis were useless, put on a set of Pirelli Scorpion winters and had zero problems. Biggest thing to remember is go easy on the skinny pedal.

Two winters ago (have since bought a 4X4) I drove mine in the winter with just rear snow tires on (yes, I know, not a good idea), but had no problems. With the Pirelli's, forget about it. Attempted to go up an incline that a marble would not roll down on and had to turn around and park it a friends house. Amazing what snow tires can do. I can't speak for all-seasons though.

I daily my SS. Pirelli scorpion snow/ice tires on an extra set of wheels, and they are amazing. I drove through 3 inches of snow no problem. Make sure you have a little more PSI in them when the snow is on the road, they cut through the snow better.

I drive in the winter with P zeros on the back and don't have problems. Don't drive like an idiot in snow/ice and you'll be ok.
