Getting IM+TB+Headers
I have a 2019 SS with NPP, rotofab CAI, and E85. Looking to add an IM, TB, and headers now.
GPI offers this package deal with a ported LT2 IM and a Katech 95mm ported TB. Seems like the way to go. I need to select the 95mm straight TB adapter in the last step right? https://gwatneyperformance.com/produ...old-126977114/ For headers, I'm looking at these BBK ones that come ceramic coated. https://www.phastekperformance.com/B...-cam-40440.htm And anything else I should add on for reliability/longevity while this work is being done? Thanks in advance. Last edited by 2speed2fast; 03-09-2024 at 03:46 AM. |

Those headers are not Stainless Steel so I would pass on them. The ceramic coating will chip and then they will start to rust. Even on a car that doesn't see rain. Years ago I bought a 4th gen Z28 with 10k miles. It had hooker ceramic coated steel headers. Car was never driven in the rain. The car was immaculate inside, outside, underneath. The headers looked like trash. I put a full Kooks exhaust on it from the headers back. Still looks like new 10years later.

You can buy the manifold and the throttle body on rock auto for about $400. You have to shave the bottom of the lt2 intake manifold so it can fit properly but it’s not hard just use a grinder or sander. I grinded mine then hand sanded it to smooth it out. You also have to drill and tap the spot for the brake booster. It’s really not that hard just sounds like a lot. Phastek sells an lt2 manifold adapter kit it comes with a fitting for the brake booster and extensions for the sensors and Evap lines aswell. I recommend you get the solar performance throttle body adapter, from what I’ve seen it has the smoothest transition from the oe 87mm to 95mm. Before i installed it I put the tb on the adapter and the plate simulating how it would under use and the plate had perfect clearance it did not touch the adapter. My car has had no issues since I’ve went with this set up. And the rotofab actually fits better now cause the lt2 rises the intake pipe a bit. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...+manifold,5536 https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...ttle+body,6472 l MAKE SURE YOU GET THE ZR1 THROTTLE BODY ITS THE LAST ONE $185 https://www.phastekperformance.com/p...021-camaro-ss/ For headers I personally went with the speed engineering 2 in headers along with their off road xpipe kit and connected to the factory rear muffler. Sounds amazing and it gets a lot of compliments. https://speed-engineering.com/collec...t1-lt4-engines |
