I have been using the AA Wireless Android Auto for nearly 7 months with absolutely no problems what so ever. This thing connects in under 10 seconds ever time with no issues it is a plus not having to use the usb-c cord which cause nothing but problems when connected to Android Auto. Going Wireless is great phone calls, texting, using Google maps it works perfectly.

Are you referring to having your phone connected directly by hardware, and it has a USB-C connector on it? That's the setup I've been running since I got the car new almost two years ago and have never had a single issue that traced back to anything other than bugs in Android Auto itself or a need to update the software on the car.

This little device works only with Android phones and makes your phone completely wireless which means you no longer need to connect your phone with a usb-c cable to Android auto. Reason why I went and this direction is because of all the problems when using the usb-c cable to Android auto since going wireless never had anymore problems.

If you've experienced issues with a hard-wired connection, it's either a bad cable or there's a problem with the USB port on the phone. My three year old Pixel 3XL never had an issue as long as I was using a proper cable.

yeah but now I can plug it into a proper charger that will at least charge the phone by time I get where I'm going

I've tried different usb-c cables and nothing helped or work. When Samsung released the s21 series especially the s21 ultra which I have had issues when using the usb-c cable. Things like unable to voice to text, have text messages read back, and have no volume to low volume to listen to music. After numerous phone calls to t mobile, Samsung it turns out that Android 11 at the time was causing the problem because Android Auto wasn't keeping up with there updates which at the time Android Auto was at 6.4. I believe Android Auto is now getting ready to push out another update from 7.1 to 7.2 because others are still having problems. What makes it strange Samsung tells me it's only effecting a small group.

I had issues with my 21 ultra at first, but once it updated to android 12, the only issue I have is slower than usual charging.

This one's under $60, although I've never heard the name of the manufacturer. Oh and I don't know the country of origin since I figure most everything has foreign parts in it, like all GM products.

I don't want to derail this thread, but with this whole wireless AA unit... Is there a replacement charging pad for the older '16's that fits these bigger phones? The wireless AA is great, but it would be nice to be able to sit your phone on the charging pad, but my Galaxy S21 is to big for it.

It's for Apple CarPlay, not Android Auto.

Would you also need something that can provide a higher charge wattage, too? The newer, larger phones tend to not do so well on the older charge pads because the phone consumes power as fast as it's being supplied when you have an app running.

No, there isn't. I did these short edge cuts on mine, and the S10/S10e fit, not sure about that baking pan S21

This is pretty much the best you can do unless you are willing to completely butcher up the backside of the center console.
