Sensor problem on rear windows (Convertible)

The battery died during the big freeze a couple of months ago. Guess a bad cell plus I didn't think to remove the range unit. Stone dead after nine days. After the new battery, I keep getting a message about "Open and close right rear window", or left rear. Usually on the first startup of the day. I tried dropping the ground cable for about 15-20 minutes but no change. I seem to remember something about sensor problems or alignment being mentioned years ago but can't fine anything. It doesn't stop lowering or raising the top but the message will not go away if the top is down. Does anyone have any info about this?

Try (with the top up) lowering (at the same time) both rear windows, When they hit the bottom of travel, HOLD both switchs for 10 sec. Then raise both and HOLD both switchs for 10 sec. Hope this helps.

Thanks. I remember some discussion about that several years ago but couldn't recall the specifics. This is probably it. I'll give it a try next time I go out.

No luck with holding the switches closed. I might try again and increase the time.
