Wireless Charging Iphones

The new iPhones are supposed to be able to charge wirelessly. I just got the X and I can’t see where it charges as I see no lightning bolt as the owners manaual says. Anybody else had any luck?

From what I am reading, the wireless charging pads in pre-2018 GM vehicles didn't quite meet the Qi standards and won't be able to charge the new iPhones.

They meet Qi standards just not the same level of Qi standards that apple requires.

I don’t really care about wireless charging, but if this is the case GM should upgrade everyone’s charging tray to meet the latest version for free if the car is still under warranty.

It’s inevitable that the technology in the iPhone X today will trickle down to all Apple iPhones over the next couple years.

You have to use the recommended case Chevy suggest, and then it will work about 1/2 to 3/4's the time

I bought a case that charged my iPhone 6 in the pad without issue though it didn’t fit perfectly in the tray. That phone went bad (battery) and was replaced with a 6S which I’ve yet to try since I’m seldom in the car

Apple requires a higher voltage and went against Qi,’s recommendation. Because of this they won’t charge.

are the pads in 2018 Camaro different so that the will charge iPhones? Does this thread apply to iPhones in 2106 and 2017 Camaros, or in any sixth gen including the current MY?
