I don't see anything wrong with Slippage. I like Slippage. It is "controlled chaos". If you can control the ZL1 and all of its power, very few cars can touch it.

It IS too much...for people who have no restraint and feel that they need to mash the throttle all the time. I've been DDing both of my cars even in rain for the past few months and both cars are well behaved. If you drive it normally then it will be normal. If you drive like a maniac and go WOT and stay in it then it'll put you into a wall which is what people who drive like that deserve anyway. These cars are well mannered. Plus they come with enough throttle lag from the factory to keep them safe.

Not too much for the street. Generally its too much for most traffic situations that I get stuck in, but occasionally I can find the right area to WOT it for a few gears. Plus, the power always makes it easy to find traffic holes.

It would have been too much for me, I don't know...3 decades ago. I almost had my Dad convinced I needed an 87 Grand National, which would be nice to own now. However, It very well could have bitten me looking back & the way I was. No, this car is not too much if you respect / understand it's capabilities, but it most certainly is too much if you don't.

I gotta good one for you guys...my neighbor ran into my wife a couple days ago & asked her if it would be OK to let his high school grandson to borrow my ZL1 for prom. He got his answer from her bout of laughter, but this thread got me thinking if he actually understood the car, would he have even asked??

Not a problem as long as you warm up the tires properly before hard accelerations. Even with the 1LE's 325's I can get the rear loose. What a car!

I think the torque management is great. I usually just keep it in Tour mode with the exhaust set to Track and never have any issues with traction even when hammering the throttle. For the amount of power this thing has, it's actually really easy to drive.

I am currently over 700whp and it is still manageable so long as I manage the pedal. In every day driving it drives like any other car. If I just give it a normal amount of pedal then I accelerate away from a light just like the car next to me.

With that being said, if I hammer into it from say 50mph down then it is going to spin the tires. Even when playing and letting them spin some it does not feel like it wants to swap ends.

I guess the point is that it drives perfectly fine as long as you do too. I wouldn't turn an 18 year old loose in it though...

There is a learning curve with this car. If you slowly learn the power curve and respect it, it's all good. If you hop in it and hammer down with out knowing how fast it is, then it's gonna bite you hard lol.

This car definitely has a lot of power. However, the electronics are so well tuned in this car it makes it seem a lot more manageable. If you turn those off, then you are playing with fire. The car also takes some getting used to on WOT take offs. The A10 is easier to manage than the M6, but both are easily controllable with experience.

The power is very well matched to the chassis, tires, and electronics. It is near perfect for the street and is a blast even getting quickly up to 35 or 40 MPH. You don't have to go 190MPH to have fun in this car. And downshifting to first to take a slow corner never fails to put a smile or scowl on people's faces. While not typically loud if you don't want it to be, it can sound great when goosed.

That said, it is not a Honda Fit. With this ZL1, if you floor it, you can get into trouble quick. Some cars are so dead, they don't have a pulse no matter what you do to them. This one is a very lively dance partner.

I do this all the time. If tires are warm and it's warm/hot outside I can mash the pedal in first with traction and stability control off in sport ptms and no spin and car stays straight. If it's cooler out and tires are still warm it will spin a little but I still stay in it and the ass end kicks out and i control the car easily... by warming up the tires I mean normal driving, don't even have to do linelock or whatever. sounds like you need more seat time...

So is this true? Does the 6th Gen ZL1 have too much torque for the street and risks spinning out?
Please call out these "several people" because they are dopes.
