Rear Differential Fluid SS rears

So I am curious if we are going to see the 1500 mile rear differential fluid replaced as there was many who did this in the 5th gen. If you have a manual transmission when are you changing your fluid?

Not sure, I haven't looked into that far. But I did see that they recommend it be changed out...

Same for the v6? Would this be covered under gm services?

What about the transmission fluid on the a8?

The rear differential fluid on a v6 I do not think has to be done at 1500 miles but could not hurt. The rear differential fluid really does not have to be changed until 50k unless you track the car on the v8. Track prep also stats after the first run to change the rear differential fluid. I would think Automatic transmission is the same as most. If it is foreign higher end they say life time. Which means bad maintenance is life time as most people never change auto transmission fluid. Great maintenance every 30k miles. Also the first oil changes are to flush out metal flakes because you are OCD. So an OCD maintenance would be at 1500 miles to flush out the auto trans too. Then every 30k miles on a v6.

2016 Camaro Manual says to replace rear diff fluid every 45k miles.

Rear Axle (V6 Engine with Automatic
Transmission)

Dexron non-LSD Gear Oil (GM Part No. 88863089, in Canada 88863090)

Rear Axle (V6 Engine with Manual
Transmission)
Dexron LS Gear Oil 75W90 Limited Slip (GM Part No. 88862624, in
Canada 88862625).

Rear Axle (V8 Engine) Dexron LS Gear Oil 75W90 Limited Slip (GM Part No. 88862624, in
Canada 88862625

Is this change done for free under warranty? Anyone know how much it is if not? Trying to decide whether I should do it myself or not. The dexron Ls gear oil is $24/qt and it needs 1.2q I believe. My car needs the change already. I get a loud hum early in the morning when I make a sharp turn

It is not a free service. I am going to do it myself as soon as the oil and pump come in. I decided to go with amsoil 75w90 with friction modifier to be safe. Still under the $24 a qt and I feel better quality oil. Just my thoughts and doubt any one will notice a difference.

Make sure that fluid is on GM's "okay" list. They are very specific about certain fluids...especially in the rear.

Curious if and how to find a gm ok list. Usually Amsoil is always approved oil. I do not know about the gear oil though.

EDit: Well called amsoil and the LS dexron is not covered or certified as of yet.

So I researched some more and found every one having troubles with the GEN5 and using royal purple, mobile1, and valvoline. I just ordered the right fluid by GM Part # 88862624

GM REAR END LS FLUID

If you click the link you can buy the oil for $14.95 a quart though.

Just ordered two quarts. Best price that I found was from Bonanza at $37.75 total.
