Only 2 free oil changes

I'm at the dealer and was told I only have 2 free oil changes and I'm at 1100 and it's "not even close to due"...

They will be updating mylink software too..

I see others getting way more free changes...tf?

no they don't. The 16 camaro gets 2 free oil changes in the first 24 months per GM policy. Anytime, not when the oil minder says 20 pct like some dealers want to do...If they don't give you a full syn like Mobil 1, call Chevy cust service

Yup. This is absolutely correct. The service rep tried to tell me I couldn't get one at 1000 miles and that I would have to pay out of pocket for it. I complained to the service manager. He apologized and said it was a training issue and he would annotate in my records that I could come back anytime and they would do oil changes with Mobil 1 every time. He even threw in a free extra oil change for the "less than stellar" customer service that I received.

as I said, call chevy cust service...but don't buy into the hype, dexos is fine unless you are racing or doing extreme ...forums have a way of making you think the AC dexos blend is cow-piss-sulphuric-acid, and Mobil 1 is honey gold...pretty much a crock....

I did a break in oil change at about 600 miles. They didn't bat an eye.

You don't want to be running full synthetic this early in your break in period, you need to give your engine some wear in time.

Chevy will email the management here in Reno to see why I was charged for Mobel1. And to check up on the mylink update.
50 seems stupid... that a lot of money it would be cheaper to do in manually...

Hey

The thing is if they offer 2 oil changes, it's up to u, the consumer when u get it changed, not them... and as long as it's dexos approved, that's your choice too... if they don't like doing it, change the manual to say customer must come in when oil life is at 20% or under.... they log your service in so they know when u come in....

This has been proven to be wrong. Synthetic fluid can be used from the very beginning as all of our SS cars are filled with mobile 1 to begin with. Same thing with the corvette's. So GM designed break in around Mobile1.

That's the way I feel too better off starting with the blend but my first oil change WILL BE FULL SYN... dealer barks cause Mobil 1 is more money!!!

It's confusing cause 1 website told me blend and another one says Mobil 1 full syn at factory fill

I thought it was synthetic blend, not full synthetic. And definitely not Mobil 1 factory fill. But yes, there is no harm running fully synthetic during break in. There is no break in change required. Send your oil off to analysis if you don't believe it.

*Edit: ok so others are getting conflicting info too. So what's the story from the printed owners manual. Online manual says this:
AC Delco dexos1 Synthetic Blend is recommended.
