Some performance results of the new GT350R
Just thought I would share this are anyone for a little read. These numbers look pretty darn similar to the auto SS expected times in 0-60, quarter-mile. Any thoughts?

It is pretty neat that it beats the Cayman GT4 around a track on the R&T test.

IMO The 0-60 and 1/4 miles times are not what this car was made for.
Road course is all that matters for GT350R; example: does anyone know or care what the Z/28 does in the 1/4? but we all know what it does at Nurburgring 7:37.47

Exactly, and it appears to be punching well above its weight (and price). That car deserves respect.

The SS might have similar acceleration, but it is not going to be able to touch the GT-350R around a track. The GT-350 is at the level of the 5th gen Z/28 which is also not that much in a straight line. R/T got 4.0 0-60 and 12.2 in the 1/4 for the Z/28.

Well, I remember Mustang boys talking crap about the Z28 1/4 time... But now that GT350 isn't trapping 120+, they keep on saying it's a track car and not a strip car.

Note the 1.1 G. Haven't seen anything close to that yet for an SS.
As pointed out 0 to 60 and 1/4 are NOT what this car was created for. Look for a GT350R to run much better than an SS around any track. GT350 may be another story. But that "R" is the difference maker.

the next gen z?? performance wise will destroy GT350 easy. it more on how long they take it get it out and the price.
I mean I would pick it up based on the 1 second faster 1/4 mile alone. the handling will be sorted out as well. the mustang buiding the GT350 is a direct response to losing that fight. I do really like the GT350 and am kind of on the fence I want one but I don't want one at MSRP or over. supposedly the R has run 11.7's in factory testing but so far magazines are way off pace but they are way off pace on C6 times, C7 times etc. I am hoping now that they are hitting the ground IE there are a couple on ebay. the rich people willing to pay stupid prices will get thiers and once there are on more people shopping that don't care about money prices always come down.

Carroll Shelby was told of the car before he died, which was in 2012, so the GT350 project has been cooking for a long time now. The GT350 was designed to take the Mustang higher, independent of the Camaro, and it has. If ANY Camaro can say it influenced the GT350's genesis..it's the ZL1, nothing else. |

The Bentley I recall reading has pretty aggressive gearing, that really helps it down low out of the hole... |
