ANC adapter !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thought I would share this for those still fighting that dreaded feedback sound when starting up and driving around below 70mph. So far so good for me........

The easiest (and free) fix is to just find the wiring harness index for your model, which is undoubtedly posted somewhere right here. Then cut just one of the wires for one of the mics. You could remove about 2 mm of wire so they can never touch again.
The system does a check for input from both mics. If it doesn't "see" both mics, it deactivates.

For those that don't want to be cutting wires incase of resale and just not damage things this was the option I chose and thought I would share it. I actually had mines unplugged.

Just unplug the mic in the door. Done. Free.

Can you unplug the mic without taking the door panel off?
I'm not trying to be a smartass here. Usually the connection at the door jamb is an integrated harness and it is all taped up. At least back by the amp you can see the individual wire colors.

No, you do have to remove the door panel. It's free, and you don't have to cut any wires that you may later regret. Just a 1/2 hour of your time and elbow grease.

That 23 bucks wasn't nothing really and took me 5 secs to plug the wire in. If you look at it in all that's an hour of time if you actually want to put it back. Just providing another option to people that's all.

The harness was actually cheaper getting it directly from the manufacturer than Amazon. I bought the same one a year ago

Cancels out the feedback you get from the subs that sounds like a ground feedback issue but its not.

The harness turns off the ANC system, probably by interrupting the connection to the door mics we are talking about.

The ANC system is there to reduce low frequency noise which sounds like a groan when the car speed is say 50 mph but the engine rpm's are only 1300 or so. The engine can handle that, and Chevy wants that to hit fuel economy targets, but some drivers may think the car is struggling. So they deploy this system (ANC) to limit the noise.

One of these days I plan to unplug my Bose amp and see if I can hear this noise. The ANC is always on even if the stereo is off.

If you install an aftermarket amp with sub, that introduces a signal path delay compare to the stock system. The ANC is basically tuned to the timing of the stock system to generate its interference signal. Put in aftermarket stuff and even a few milliseconds difference in signal path turns destructive interference into constructive interference.
